‘Gusto’ withdraws from the French youth team

Chelsea full-back Malo Gusto has withdrawn from the France Under-21 squad after suffering a thigh injury.

Gusto picked up the injury in Sunday’s 1-1 Premier League draw with Crystal Palace, with Mykhailo Mudryk coming on for the final 15 minutes.

The full-back sustained the injury in Sunday’s 1-1 Premier League draw with Crystal Palace and was subsequently replaced by Mykhailo Mudryk with just over 15 minutes left to play at Stamford Bridge.

The defender has now withdrawn from his nation’s Under-21 European Championship qualifying fixtures against Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“With Malo, we will see now what happens,” Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca said after the game. “It looks like a muscle problem, so we will see.”

Gusto has now bwithdrawn from the European Under-21 Championship ties against Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
